Visit Ireland: My favorite Family-Focused Trip Itinerary

Working with families who want to travel to Ireland is an extra-special treat for us. We have an amazing colleague we work with who specializes in Ireland (and has for MANY years). Through collaborating your must-see spots with our strategic planning and on the ground connections, we're able to put together a truly authentic and memorable Ireland vacation for all ages in your group.

Here's just one sample itinerary highlighting some of the family-friendly locations and activities you can experience on your vacation to Ireland.

IRELAND 8 days

After arriving at the airport, our representative will meet you at the main terminal and take you to your transportation vehicle. Then relax as a driver whisks you away to you hotel. After a little R&R, explore the area around you, and enjoy a private dinner with a Celtic harpist entertaining.

Today will be spent exploring the historic city of Dublin. First, you'll visit the Irish Emigration Museum to learn about Ireland's people and their influences on our world. After your museum visit, you'll be treated to scones and tea at a nearby bakery.

Next, head to a local whiskey distillery to experience the complete whiskey-making process and enjoy a tasting paired with delectable Irish chocolates (non-alcoholic drinks will be provided for children and those wishing to not partake in the whiskey tasting).

Spend the rest of the day exploring the cobblestone streets of Dublin. Shop, eat, and enjoy!

Depart Dublin and head to Cashel. As a special hands-on activity, your kids will love learning all about Ireland's national game of hurling which has been played since ancient times. Then walk up the hill to the Rock of Cashel, the seat of the Kings of Munster.

Learn the details about the life and times of this preserved guard tower and majestic Chapel of King Cormac. Younger travelers will love hunting for lucky shamrocks on the same grounds where Saint Patrick once stood.

Finally, settle into your hotel at Killarney and enjoy a delicious hearty Irish meal after a long day of exploring.

Today you'll spend the day discovering Killarney. Start with a photo stop with your family at Ross Castle, a 15th-century castle at the edge of Killarney’s lower lake.

Next, take a boat to the enchanting island of Innisfallen where you'll explore the ruins of Innisfallen Abbey, one of the most remarkable archaeological ruins in Killarney National Park.

Experience Irish pastimes of artisan butter-making and traditional music & dancing this afternoon, followed by an evening exploring the quaint town of Killarney's shops, dining, and music.

Get ready for another magical day exploring castles in the Irish countryside - along with some evening surprises.

If you like the look of the above castle, that's good - because it's where you'll be calling home for the next three nights!

This evening, a delicious and elegant meal will be prepared and adult guests are invited to dress-up and enjoy the royal atmosphere. Younger travelers will be in heaven with a meal, games, and movie night of their own.

After a tasty breakfast, meet up with your hosts to tour the grounds of the gorgeous Dromoland Castle. After taking in the breathtaking hills and enchanting gardens, experience a birds of prey demonstration where you'll interact with hawks, owls and majestic falcons.

Spend the afternoon at the gorgeous hotel which boasts a variety of activities such as tennis, golf, boating, biking, and croquet. Spa packages are also available for those looking for the ultimate R & R.

End the day with a delightful visit to a local Irish farm. Learn the passed-down secrets of scone-making, learn about sheepherding and even have the opportunity to bottle-feed a baby lamb or piglet. Finally, enjoy a savory home-cooked dinner with lively Irish entertainment!

DAY 7 Begin your day by visiting the famous and wonderous Cliffs of Moher - dramatic cliffs that stand 700 feet above the sea!

Afterward, devour traditional Irish dishes as you stop into one of Doolin's oldest pubs (it's been run by the same family since 1867).

Enjoy one last breakfast in your royal castle hotel and bid Ireland farewell as you return to the airport today.
